Put Up Your Dux

This is a documentary about the true life story of world-renowned martial artist Frank Dux, on which the famous 1988 Jean-Claude Van Damme film "Bloodsport" is based.

Dux was the first American to create and teach his own form of the Japanese martial art Ninjitsu and is considered a contributing factor to the evolution of Mixed Martial Arts in the United States. Despite his influence, Dux has come under extreme scrutiny regarding his time as an undercover CIA agent, allegations that he falsified his own military record, and even dismissal of the existence of a secret underground fighting tournament called “The Kumite” for which the film, Bloodsport, is based on.

Put Up Your Dux seeks to find answers about Dux’ mysterious past through his own stories and interviews with those who know him best. The film examines all angles, with the hopes of offering closure in the debate over the legend of one of the most fascinating yet controversial figures in martial arts history.
